Yorimichi – My Road Poster Contest
Are you excited about the idea of getting back on the road and travelling around Japan again? Do you have special memories about the sights, sounds and smells that can only be experienced off the beaten track?
Now is your chance to share the attraction of rural Japan with LJC’s Yorimichi Poster Contest!
We’d like to challenge you to put your design skills to the test by making a poster promoting everything Japan has to offer in the out-of-the-way places.
Maybe it’s the view of a shrine from a country road in Hokkaido, the pizza you can only get at that tiny shop in Okayama or the serenity of driving along a coastal highway. The only limitation is where wheels have taken you in Japan.
Contest guidelines: Please be sure to read carefully to make sure your entry meets the criteria for the category you want to enter. Entries that do not follow these guidelines may be disqualified.
Timeline:
Submission window: Monday, February 21st to Monday, March 14th
Judging: March 14th to March 21st
Winners announced: Wednesday, March 30th
Theme:
Poster contest highlighting rural Japan and containing a “road” motif.
Size/Orientation:
Vertical or horizontal orientation, at a minimum of A4 size (3508 x 2480 px) and a maximum of A3 size (4961 x 3508 px.)
Media/Content:
Any mixed media suitable for reproduction as a poster is allowed, including computer-generated graphics. Posters must be two-dimensional. All posters must be original art. No trademarked or copyrighted images or phrases should be used. Please make sure you have all necessary rights & permissions to any media used in your submission. All subject matter must be in good taste.
Categories you can enter (limited to one category per person):
Professional: Please enter this category if you have professional design experience or studied design in school. Prize levels are higher, but so are the expectations!
Amateur: Please enter this category if you have no professional design experience of formal study. We’d like to keep the contest fun and accessible for people of all skill levels.
